OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
This role will form a key part of the operational and management teams supporting with varied contract activities including operations, recruitment & marketing, note taking, training, administrative tasks, and feedback. The post holder will be a key player in driving ABM’s performance and shaping the service ABM offer.
Main Responsibilities:
Recruitment / Marketing:
- Supporting the creation of an all-encompassing recruitment strategy – working with relevant organisations to ensure those with lived experience of disability and lower socio-economic backgrounds are aware that the Aviation sector is a great option for them.
- Screening resumes – ensure each application is reviewed and identify the best candidates for the operational team to interview.
- Co-ordinating interviews – once all the applications have been reviewed, with candidates identified, pre-screening and/or interview will need to be co-ordinated.
- Conducting interviews – you may be required to support the pre-screening process and/or support the interviewing process.
- Conducting company assessments - There may be assessments that candidates have to complete in order to proceed with the interview process.
- Attend job fairs, hiring events, and specialist events such as NAIDEX/ABM JEEP events/Job Centre etc to share personal success stories and details of opportunities within the sector and encourage applications.
Training:
- Support the design of training for Assisted Travel delegates ensuring materials and delivery are inclusive and accessible.
- Supporting Training Team to deliver training as appropriate.
- Supports organisation of dates and training activities as needed.
- Provides documentation of training provided and validates that the budgeted time allocated is met.
- Creates & conducts certification for learners. Provides feedback and coaching as part of the learning experience.
Administrative Tasks:
- Will support with processing internal and external applications through the I.D. process.
- Proactively communicating with internal and external applicants to ensure their references are completed within the SLA schedule.
- Support with collating full 5-year credible history checks (may include, liaising with applicants to seek further details from the home office or government authorities).
- Develop and provide reports as required.
- Support by taking notes for formal and non-formal meetings.
- Utilising a variety of systems and software such as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Office 365), Power BI, Find My Shift, and other platforms used to manage employees and produce meaningful reports.

Feedback:
- Monitor passenger/client correspondence throughout the feedback lifecycle.
- Support by liaising with the Operational Teams, to assist in the early resolution and logging of feedback.
- Engage with guests to collect timely and accurate feedback.
Operations:
- Participate in a variety of projects deemed appropriate by Management. Performing various support duties and ad-hoc projects as required.
- Support with identifying enhancements to the operational processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide support & resilience for the operational teams during high volume times.
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Always follow ABM Group and company policies and procedures.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
- Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
- Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager.
Essential criteria
Important information:
- This role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the successful applicant be a person who is blind or partially sighted, in line with The Equality Act 2010.
- Interns need to be able to travel to the TPT Hub in London for development events throughout the course of the internship programme (costs covered by TPT).
- Having not previously undertaken the Get Set Progress internship programme.
- Successful applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the Internship. Sponsorship will not be provided.

- Motivation: You will be passionate about the AIFP, showing clear drive to promote it and enhance future programmes.
- Relationship-building: It is vital that you can quickly build relationships with new and existing stakeholders such as charities, service user organisations etc.
- Adaptability: Ideas may not always go according to plan so you need to be able to deal with last-minute changes and the possibility that things may not work out successfully every time.
- Communication: You speak clearly, confidently at an appropriate pace. You have an ability influence and persuade others and have great active listening skills.
- Training Delivery Skills: Using language everyone understands, avoiding jargon. Encouraging participation, understand the importance of storytelling.
- Problem-solving: the ability to objectively analyse situations, using evidence and clear judgement to generate effective solutions.
- Self-aware: The ability to understand, and reflect critically on, both your own personal development and how your actions affect others.
- Curious: Need to recognise that candidates could have skills they don’t even recognise themselves.
