Job Description

Business Support Officer | Salary £25,494-£25,989 Pro Rata | 25.9 hours per week | Permanent, Part time | Fairlie Family Centre, Birch Green, Skelmersdale | Hybrid

Business Support Officer grade 4

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Business Support Officer to join our friendly and supportive team, contributing to the important work of the Education and Children's Directorate.

This is a permanent, part-time position working 25.9 hours per week (3.5 days), with the working pattern of Tuesday morning and all day Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The role provides administrative support to Children's Social Care operational staff and managers.

Whether you are an experienced administrator or looking to develop your existing skills, this is an excellent opportunity to build your career within Lancashire County Council.

The post is based at Fairlie Family Centre, Birch Green, Skelmersdale, WN8 6RG. We operate a hybrid working model, combining office and home working, so you will need a suitable workspace at home and a reliable broadband connection.

What we are looking for:

  • Passion – You'll be passionate about delivering a great service and experience, it's what will motivate you, getting it right first time, asking for support when you need it, and building on the skills that you've developed elsewhere.
  • Knowledge and Experience – Ideally, you will have experience of working within an administration setting and have knowledge of using Microsoft packages and databases.
  • Great Communication – You'll be engaging and providing advice to Managers, Social Workers, families, members of the public, and the rest of the team on a daily basis, so being able to clearly communicate the information you need and listen to individual requirements is key.
