About The Role

Do you take pride in your work and have a passion for problem-solving and service excellence? If so, Hackney is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Business Support Officer in our Senior Support Team.

Hackney is one of the most dynamic and progressive local authorities in the UK, a resilient, vibrant, and creative borough at the heart of London. With strong, diverse communities and a powerful set of shared values, Hackney is committed to ongoing innovation, equality, and ambition—particularly in its fight for equity, anti-racism, gender fairness, neurodiversity inclusion, and tackling poverty.

Hackney Parking Services are industry leaders, renowned for their best practices in parking management and enforcement. As part of this team, you’ll contribute to maintaining high standards of service delivery across the borough.

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with:

  • A positive attitude toward learning and development
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail)
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively under pressure

This is more than just an admin role—it’s about driving service excellence, supporting your colleagues, and helping Hackney continue its legacy as one of the UK’s highest-performing local authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Support Team, ensuring smooth operations
  • Maintain and update records through digital tools, including spreadsheets for data analysis and reporting
  • Draft clear, concise reports and correspondence, reflecting confidence and professionalism
  • Assist with real-time problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate across multiple departments to uplift service standards
  • Prioritise workloads effectively to meet urgent deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Continuously improve service performance to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Use Google Workspace to organise actions, deadlines, and project tracking

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
