About The Role
We support a diverse range of people including older adults, vulnerable individuals, those with physical, sensory or cognitive impairments, and those experiencing mental health challenges.
Our team is passionate about promoting independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for those we support. Every conversation is critical—often you will speak with individuals who are distressed, anxious or facing dire situations.
Working closely with Adult Social Care’s Community Teams, your role involves:
- Providing essential administrative and coordination support
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
- Facilitating secure and timely information sharing
Key skills required are: attention to detail, emotional intelligence, and strong organisational abilities to ensure customers receive the right support promptly.
What You’ll Be Doing
This opportunity suits someone who loves helping others, thrives in a fast-paced telephone-based environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service while making a real difference.
You’ll act as the first point of contact for Adult Social Care, a highly telephone-focused role. Expect to speak with:
- Customers
- Family members
- Healthcare professionals
- Care providers
- Partner agencies
Your abilities will include:

- Clear, professional communication to ensure all callers experience a positive and polished interaction.
Work Setting This is a fully office-based role at One Angel Square, forming part of a bustling, team-orientated workplace. Note: Flexible working or varying hours are not available due to service demands. The successful applicant must comply with scheduled hours to guarantee service delivery and address immediate customer needs.
About You
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Verbal communication & active listening: Clarity, professionalism, and empathy are critical, particularly when assisting vulnerable, distressed, or anxious individuals.
- Knowledge-gathering and accurate recording to support informed decision-making.
- Resilience & ability to stay composed under pressure while managing sensitive/complex inquiries—maintaining high standards of customer service at all times.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity, including:
- Treating individuals with dignity, respect, and fairness.
- Their understanding of adhering to confidentiality policies, GDPR, and ethical safeguarding practices.
- Confidence in technology and IT systems, such as:
- Microsoft Office apps (Outlook, Word).
- Proficient use of Office-based tools to collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies.
- Hold GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) or can demonstrate adequate literacy/numeracy levels for the role.

Helpful Experience (Advantageous)
- Background in any of the following sectors:
- Adult Social Care
- Health Services
- NHS
- Local Government
- Other people-focused services.
- Familiarity with core principles:
- Adult safeguarding
- Risk management
- Supporting individuals to live independently and safely.
- Systems knowledge complementing Adult Social Care workflows, including platforms like:
- Liquidlogic
- Magic Notes
- Case management systems.
- Strong organisation skills, such as:
- Agenda preparation
- Accurate minute-taking with follow-up on actions.
- Experience with administrative financial processes, including:
- Invoicing
- Payments
- Claims processing
- Purchase orders.
- Understanding and adherence to:
- GDPR compliance
- High-quality record-keeping protocols.
