Inclusive Communities Business Support Officer

Salary £28,142 - £32,061 per annum | 37 hours per week | Permanent, Full time Location: County Hall, Preston, Lancashire


About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting inclusive communities? Do you have strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to delivering high-quality work?

Lancashire County Council is seeking an Inclusive Communities Business Support Officer to join the Community Engagement and Place-Based Working service. This is a role where you’ll support key programmes promoting inclusion and community cohesion across Lancashire.

You’ll provide essential administrative, data, and project support to deliver a range of inclusion and cohesion initiatives. In a fast-paced and evolving environment, you will:

  • Coordinate meetings
  • Manage data
  • Support communications
  • Collaborate with partners across public and voluntary sectors

Your work will ensure projects remain well-organised, data-driven, and responsive to community needs.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be challenged to:

  • Assist with administrative coordination and project management.
  • Handle data accurately, generating reports and maintaining records.
  • Support communications, including email correspondence and meeting minutes.
  • Collaborate with staff, stakeholders, and external agencies.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving policies and best practices to support inclusive initiatives.

Requirements & Skills

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong organisation, attention to detail, and proactive approach.

  • Excellent communication and people skills to build positive relationships.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).

  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work across multiple priorities.

  • Relevant administrative or project support experience.

  • Strong data handling abilities to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

  • Knowledge of principles related to inclusion, equality, and fairness.
