About the Role
A rare opportunity has arisen for a well-organised and resilient individual to join the Children and Family Services as a Business Support Officer – HR, within the Business Support HR Team.
This role provides high-quality administrative support for recruitment, payroll, and staff movement activity across the department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Line manage staff, including:
- Supervision.
- Performance Development Review (PDR) and PDR review meetings.
- Implement and undertake absence management, disciplinary, and behaviour-at-work actions, under the direction of the Business Manager – Operations or Senior Management Information Officer.
- Manage and supervise workload processes within service areas, adhering to requirements and maintaining structures.
- Provide discipline-related advice through structured group meetings.
- Monitor all staff changes—either via e-form or by inputting directly into LCC payroll/HR systems.
- Actively support the recruitment process, including participating in interview panels.
- Manage ongoing data cleaning to support the case management system.
- Ensure Business Support Officers (BSOs) and Senior BSOs maintain updated templates and processes in line with Children and Family Services requirements.

About You
Essential Criteria
To apply, you must provide clear examples and evidence of the following:
- Recognised academic qualifications (e.g., GCSE, A-Levels, vocational/Further Education/NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) in a relevant field OR demonstratable equivalent experience.
- Experience of:
- Collecting, collating, and interpreting data.
- Performing calculations and writing reports with analytical clarity.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and contribute to new administrative systems.
- Leadership experience—ability to engage, motivate, and direct others towards departmental objectives.
- Proven track record in managing staff, resources, and resolving administrative challenges.
- Thorough knowledge of office IT systems and a commitment to professional integrity/confidentiality.
- Strong organisational skills, communication, initiative, and adaptability under pressure.
