Business Support Officer (Fixed-Term, 12 Months)
Job Introduction
This Business Support Officer role is fixed-term for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

As a Business Support Officer, you’ll be an essential part of a friendly, solution-focused team. You’ll play a key role in:
- Keeping the service running smoothly
- Supporting colleagues and partners
- Delivering efficient, environmentally responsible services for our communities

Main Responsibilities
You’ll support the team in the following ways:

Operational Excellence: Perform effectively in a busy and demanding operational environment.

Financial & Administrative Support:
- Process financial transactions (e.g., purchase orders, invoices, tonnage reports)
- Record transactions accurately and efficiently
- Generate routine reports

Data Management: Maintain strong attention to detail, especially with data collation, manipulation, and analysis.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with suppliers, members of the public, and stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Provide general administrative support, including taking accurate action notes of stakeholder meetings.

Customer Experience:
- Respond promptly to day-to-day queries to deliver a positive customer experience.

We are seeking a candidate who can meet essential criteria, including:
✔ Possession of a business administration qualification (NVQ Level 3 equivalent) or relevant experience. ✔ Ability to work with minimal supervision, taking initiative. ✔ Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. ✔ Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulae, data manipulation). ✔ Strong analytical ability to interpret and present data effectively. ✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ✔ A can-do attitude—flexible, positive, and committed to collaborative problem-solving. ✔ Proven experience working in a complex office environment.

- In-person interview and assessment at Staffordshire Place, Stafford (ST16 2DH)—week commencing 3 August 2026
