The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Architect to lead the design, integration, and continuous improvement of enterprise business systems that support digital transformation and operational excellence.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping the organisation's technology landscape, driving innovation, and ensuring business systems deliver measurable value across operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and business services.
You will act as the technical bridge between business strategy and technology, delivering scalable solutions that improve efficiency, connectivity, automation, and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Systems & Architecture
- Lead the architecture, administration, and continuous improvement of enterprise business systems, including ERP platforms.
- Design and maintain secure API integrations between internal systems, legacy applications, and third-party solutions.
- Develop scalable system architectures that support future business growth.
- Ensure enterprise systems remain secure, reliable, and high performing.
- Standardise business processes across multiple platforms.
Systems Integration
- Design and manage API integrations and middleware solutions.
- Oversee EDI integrations to support customers, suppliers, forecasting, and supply chain automation.
- Maintain end-to-end data integrity across enterprise applications.
- Produce architecture diagrams, integration maps, and technical documentation.
Digital Transformation & Innovation
- Drive technology-led business transformation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes through automation and digital technologies.
- Lead the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including Generative AI and Intelligent Automation solutions.
- Support barcode, QR code, and traceability initiatives to improve manufacturing and inventory processes.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.

Project Leadership
- Lead enterprise system implementation and integration projects.
- Design future operating models for new technologies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define technical requirements and solution roadmaps.
- Work closely with software vendors and implementation partners to ensure successful project delivery.
Technical Leadership
- Provide 3rd Line technical support and architectural guidance.
- Mentor IT and Business Systems teams.
- Participate in the on-call support rota.
- Ensure solutions comply with:
- Cyber Security best practices
- GDPR
- Disaster Recovery requirements
- Internal governance standards
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience as a Business Systems Architect, Enterprise Architect, Solutions Architect, or Senior Systems Manager.
- Strong experience implementing and supporting ERP systems (IFS Cloud or similar ERP platforms).
- Extensive knowledge of:
- API Integration
- EDI Solutions
- Enterprise Applications
- Cloud Technologies
- Systems Architecture
- Experience leading digital transformation programmes.
- Strong stakeholder management and business analysis skills.
- Experience producing technical architecture documentation.
- Excellent project management and leadership abilities.
- Strong understanding of IT security, governance, and compliance.
