Hands-On Business Systems Implementation Manager
Company Description
As SOCOTEC continues to grow, we are seeking a hands-on Business Systems Implementation Manager to lead the delivery and implementation of our core business systems—ERP, CRM and Field Service—across the organisation. This is a delivery-focused role: you will engage closely with detail, configuring, project managing, and embedding solutions rather than overseeing them remotely.
Reporting to the IT Director, you will serve as the key point of connection between business divisions and the UK IT team—aligning with divisional strategy, shaping the systems roadmap, and rolling up your sleeves to scope, configure, deliver, and embed work. You will lead end-to-end implementations, collaborating with internal and external teams (software developers, IT experts, and Business Analysts) to ensure technical delivery aligns with strategic business outcomes across platforms and projects.
Our current core platform is Microsoft Dynamics 365 (including Field Service and CRM), so familiarity with it is beneficial. However, this role is platform-agnostic: as our systems evolve, you may be tasked with implementing and integrating other ERP, CRM and business systems. Success here depends on transferable implementation and delivery expertise rather than single-product specialisation.
Ideal for a delivery and implementation professional keen on hands-on work with a passion for driving continuous improvement. There’s genuine potential to progress into broader delivery or programme leadership as our software ecosystem expands.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Hands-On Implementation & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end implementation of ERP, CRM and Field Service systems—from scoping and configuration through to go-live and embedding.
- Work directly with functional consultants and developers to tailor solutions, contribute to solution design, and validate configuration against business needs.
- Apply hands-on technical expertise with integration and low-code/automation tooling (e.g., Power Platform) to connect systems and streamline processes.
- Manage application acceptance as it transitions from development into live use, ensuring a smooth handover to IT support.
- Facilitate workshops, conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), and deliver training to ensure new functionality is adopted across divisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
