Location: Field Based
Contract and working pattern: 37.5 hours per week

What we’re looking for…

We’re looking for a Business Unit Controller to build and drive a key grocery account with AG Barr, primarily focusing on our Soft Drinks portfolio. As our Business Unit Controller, you will be leading one of our most pivotal and important Grocery accounts within the business and will build and implement a long-term strategy, anchored around commercial and category growth in partnership with the retailer. This role requires strong team leadership, strategic thinking, deep commercial understanding, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with the retailer, to drive mutual growth.

As our Business Unit Controller, you will:

  • Lead our Soft Drinks portfolio within the retailer to drive strategic and accelerated growth within the accounts, managing the P&L across all soft drinks subcategories
  • Create and execute a long-term, multi-year strategy, anchored in mutual growth for both the retailer and AG Barr, aligned to the category strategy and business priorities
  • Lead the cross-functional team to deliver best-in-class plans, utilizing strength in our Category Management, Brand Activation, Digital, and Supply Chain teams
  • Own the total P&L to drive profitable, sustainable growth within the Business Unit, to deliver against the growth objectives for the business
  • Lead the growth plans across multiple formats - Stores, Express, Online & Q-Com
  • Lead the team to build comprehensive joint business plans, to leverage strategic partnership and drive key business objectives
  • Lead the team to deliver against the internal monthly cycle with accuracy and clarity, including: forecast delivery, accurate numbers reporting, FY plan projections, using external data sources where required (Quantium, Kantar, Circana)
  • Develop and inspire a high-performing team through coaching and focused personal development planning

What you’ll bring…

  • Proven and demonstrable leadership of a team delivering great results both internally and externally
  • Significant experience in an FMCG environment (Grocery and/or Impulse category experience beneficial)
  • Strong people management and coaching skills
  • A strong understanding of category-led selling and strategic thought leadership
  • Proven success in managing senior-level relationships internally and externally. Ability to influence decision-makers and effectively present at various organizational levels
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with CRM, forecasting tools, and Google Office
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Lots of energy, positivity, and a drive to be part of exciting change!
