Business Unit Lead for consumer brand creative communications agency

Business Unit Lead – Creative Communications Agency

Wonderland is seeking a senior Business Unit Lead—akin to an Associate Director in a traditional agency—to drive our consumer brand and FMCG creative communications team forward.

Tired of the agency purity test—where you’re forced to choose between brilliant work or brilliant culture, ambition or wellbeing? We think there’s a better way to run a business.

At Wonderland—a B Corp-certified creative communications agency—you can be your authentic self, feel comfortable to thrive, and belong to a workplace that values both career growth and personal flourishing.

Leave traditional trade-offs behind. Join a business with a clear purpose, where smart thinking and bold creativity go hand in hand with real belonging.

We’re looking for a visionary leader to shape our next chapter—a person who can bring people and accounts together in a way that drives both exceptional work and organisational growth.

About the Role

Wonderland is stepping into a pivotal phase, expanding its leadership team and creating space for employees to advance alongside the business.

This senior Business Unit Lead is responsible for overseeing across-the-board accountability—client relationships, work quality, team development, and financial health.

You may lead 2–3 of our largest consumer brand accounts, though our open mind means great leadership can reshape our plans.

You’ll help us:

  • Deliver strategic and creative excellence;
  • Build strong, trusted client relationships;
  • Foster environments where teams thrive; and
  • Contribute to transformative business growth.

This isn’t just about account management—it’s about building a sustainable, positive legacy for Wonderland and anyone around you.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Client & Commercial Leadership: Lead client relationships, drive growth, and ensure robust commercial performance across business units.
  • Strategic & Creative Oversight: Own the quality, vision and execution of every campaign—across social, PR, crisis communications, creators & more.
  • Strategic Thinking: Deepen insights to inspire bold creativity, seize opportunities, and navigate challenges proactively.
  • Financial Accountability: Manage business unit finances and contribute to strategic financial health of the agency.
  • Team Culture: Lead by example—motivate teams, foster trusting environments, and embed Wonderland’s values in everything we do.
  • Internal Leadership: Drive key initiatives to ensure values, vision, and business goals align and flourish.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
