Our Procurement team ⭐

The Procurement team at Monzo is evolving into a proactive, strategic partner to the business - one that shapes commercial decisions, enables scale, and delivers meaningful long-term value.

We’re hiring a Buyer to join the team. This role will align to a defined category/collective and focus on delivering strong sourcing and commercial outcomes. While you’ll work within a specific spend area, we’re hiring for strong, transferable procurement skills - not deep subject matter expertise.

This is a great opportunity to build deeper category knowledge over time while becoming a high-visibility partner who guides stakeholder and business direction and builds credibility.

🔑You’ll play a key role by...

  • Leading end-to-end sourcing processes within your aligned category, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
  • Navigating complex trade-offs, applying sound commercial judgement to balance risk, cost, value and long-term strategy
  • Running competitive events and negotiating commercial terms that deliver measurable value
  • Owning contract execution and renewal planning, proactively managing timelines and dependencies
  • Translating stakeholder requirements into clear, commercially robust solutions - challenging constructively where needed
  • Aligning and, where necessary, realigning stakeholders to drive clarity, momentum and confident decision-making
  • Identifying and delivering opportunities to improve commercial outcomes within your remit through insight, influence and independent thinking

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

🌱 Growth & Development

This role offers the opportunity to align to a category and develop deeper expertise over time, building both commercial depth and strategic influence. If you bring experience in a particular spend area, we’d love to know - but it’s not a prerequisite.

We’re primarily looking for strong procurement fundamentals and the ability to apply them thoughtfully in new contexts.

As you demonstrate independent execution, strong judgement and stakeholder leadership, there’s clear opportunity to broaden your remit, increase complexity, and grow your impact longer term.

🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You have experience running end-to-end sourcing processes and negotiating commercial terms, always seeking to understand the commercial rationale behind decisions
  • You understand core procurement principles and can clearly articulate commercial trade-offs - balancing cost, risk, value and long-term impact
  • You are naturally curious, seeking to understand the “why” behind decisions and constructively challenging assumptions to drive stronger commercial outcomes
  • You are comfortable applying your skills across different spend areas, adapting your approach to new contexts with sound judgement
  • You have experience working closely with stakeholders, guiding and influencing commercial conversations with confidence
  • You thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy solving practical commercial challenges with curiosity and ownership
  • You’re curious about and comfortable using AI tools (like Gemini or Claude) to power up your research and analysis

Not ticking every box? That’s totally okay! Studies show that women and people of colour might hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. At Monzo, we’re dedicated to creating a diverse and welcoming team. If you’re passionate about this role and keen to learn and grow with us, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t have everything that's listed just yet. Drop us your application, we’d love to hear from you!
