Role Description
This full-time, on-site Buyer position is based in Whetstone. The role involves sourcing and purchasing electronic components, materials, and services to align with production schedules and new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation
- Obtain and assess quotations for electronic components and materials
- Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, and delivery timelines
- Identify and onboard alternative suppliers to mitigate supply risks

Procurement & Order Management
- Place and manage purchase orders
- Track supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance
- Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP/MRP systems

Inventory & Cost Optimisation
- Monitor and manage inventory levels
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve supply chain issues
- Support cost-optimization initiatives while maintaining ESCATEC’s high service standards

Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to mitigating supply chain risks and improving operational efficiency
- Drive sustainability and ethical procurement practices
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Skills
🔹 2+ years in purchasing, supply chain, or procurement within:
- Electronics manufacturing
- Engineering environments (preferably electronics-related)

🔹 Strong supplier management skills, including:
- Negotiating pricing, lead times, and contractual terms
- Evaluating and monitoring supplier performance
🔹 ERP/MRP system proficiency (e.g., SAP, etc.) 🔹 Excel and standard office software expertise
🔹 Analytical & numerical skills to:
- Interpret demand forecasts
- Optimise stock levels
- Support cost and efficiency improvements
🔹 Excellent communication and collaboration with:
- Production, engineering, quality, and logistics teams
🔹 Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of handling:
- Multiple purchase orders & deadlines in a fast-paced environment
🔹 Ideal if you have knowledge of:
- Electronic components
- Manufacturing processes
- EMS industry standards
Education
🎓 Preferred background in:
- Supply chain, procurement, business, or engineering
- OR equivalent industry experience
