Role Description

This full-time, on-site Buyer position is based in Whetstone. The role involves sourcing and purchasing electronic components, materials, and services to align with production schedules and new product introductions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation
    • Obtain and assess quotations for electronic components and materials
    • Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, and delivery timelines
    • Identify and onboard alternative suppliers to mitigate supply risks

  • Procurement & Order Management

    • Place and manage purchase orders
    • Track supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance
    • Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP/MRP systems
  • Inventory & Cost Optimisation

    • Monitor and manage inventory levels
    • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve supply chain issues
    • Support cost-optimization initiatives while maintaining ESCATEC’s high service standards
  • Continuous Improvement

    • Contribute to mitigating supply chain risks and improving operational efficiency
    • Drive sustainability and ethical procurement practices

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience & Skills

🔹 2+ years in purchasing, supply chain, or procurement within:

  • Electronics manufacturing
  • Engineering environments (preferably electronics-related)

🔹 Strong supplier management skills, including:

  • Negotiating pricing, lead times, and contractual terms
  • Evaluating and monitoring supplier performance

🔹 ERP/MRP system proficiency (e.g., SAP, etc.) 🔹 Excel and standard office software expertise

🔹 Analytical & numerical skills to:

  • Interpret demand forecasts
  • Optimise stock levels
  • Support cost and efficiency improvements

🔹 Excellent communication and collaboration with:

  • Production, engineering, quality, and logistics teams

🔹 Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of handling:

  • Multiple purchase orders & deadlines in a fast-paced environment

🔹 Ideal if you have knowledge of:

  • Electronic components
  • Manufacturing processes
  • EMS industry standards

Education

🎓 Preferred background in:

  • Supply chain, procurement, business, or engineering
  • OR equivalent industry experience
