Iconic Resourcing is delighted to be partnering once again with Union Technical as they continue an exciting period of growth and transformation. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a business that is investing in its people, systems, and commercial capabilities as it continues to expand across the construction and renewable energy sectors.
You'll play an important role in ensuring projects have the materials, suppliers, and subcontractors they need to be delivered successfully. You'll work closely with colleagues across finance, operations, and project delivery while helping to strengthen procurement processes and supplier relationships across the business.
This role would suit an experienced construction Buyer who enjoys working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and wants to be part of a business where they can genuinely make an impact.
What you'll be doing
- Raising and managing purchase orders for materials, plant, and subcontractors.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating the best commercial terms.
- Procuring construction materials across multiple live projects.
- Working closely with operational teams to understand project requirements and delivery timescales.
- Supporting supplier performance, contract negotiations, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Assisting with procurement reporting and spend analysis.
- Supporting the continued development of procurement processes and systems, including the company's ERP platform.
- Working alongside the bid team to obtain supplier quotations and support tender submissions.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

What we're looking for
- Previous buying or procurement experience within the construction sector.
- Experience purchasing construction materials and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills.
- Experience working with subcontractors and multiple suppliers.
- Comfortable working within ERP or procurement systems.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the confidence to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
