Are you an experienced Buyer with a background in manufacturing? Do you enjoy building supplier relationships, negotiating costs, and ensuring materials are delivered on time?

Our client, a leading manufacturer of precision components for the aerospace and power generation industries, is looking for a Buyer to join their growing Purchasing team. With a strong order book, excellent long-term job security and genuine progression opportunities into Technical Buying, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business.

Job Description

  • Manage the procurement of materials and services to support production requirements
  • Raise purchase orders and monitor supplier performance
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial agreements
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability
  • Analyse purchasing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Work closely with Production, Planning and Engineering teams
  • Ensure supplier information, pricing and lead times are accurately maintained within the ERP system

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Previous buying or purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Commercially aware with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
  • Proactive, organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
