Your new company
A successful main contractor with over 40 years' history in the building and refurbishment sectors, seek an experience company buyer to join the team. Working across multiple sectors the business have an excellent reputation with the public and private sectors alike, Projects vary and include public sector refurbishment, firestopping works, high-end residential, facade remediation and some fit out. With multiple schemes across London and the South it's an extremely busy period of growth reflected in the need to strengthen the commercial team. This is a permanent long-term role based in the newly refurbished company head office in Sevenoaks.
Your new role
A key role within the business - You will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials and labour for all projects, ensuring best value, robust supply chain relationships, and smooth delivery across multiple projects, primarily within the social housing refurbishment sector. This is a standalone position offering autonomy and responsibility, working closely with the commercial and operational teams across the business. The business work in the occupied refurbishment, remediation and fire stopping sectors, all with long-standing clients under frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
- Procurement of materials and subcontract labour across a range of construction project types.
- Negotiating prices, terms, and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Managing and developing approved supply chains.
- Using procurement software to place orders, track spend, and report performance
- Supporting commercial teams with cost control and procurement strategy
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience as a buyer within construction, ideally as a main contractor.
Confidence and ability to work independently as the sole Buyer.
IT‑literate with recent hands‑on experience using procurement software
Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
Comfortable liaising with multiple external stakeholder and internal management.
What you'll get in return

Experience within social housing refurbishment or regeneration projects is preferred.
Applicants must be IT‑literate with recent, hands‑on experience using procurement software.
The role requires a commercially astute individual with strong negotiation skills.
The ability to operate independently while effectively liaising with multiple stakeholders is essential.
