About the Role
As part of the JRL Group, McMullen Façades is a leading unitised façade contractor, specialising in the design, fabrication, and installation of unitised panels for medium and large commercial and residential projects.
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support the Head of Procurement in procuring critical materials domestically and internationally. Candidates must demonstrate strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to minimise costs.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Budget Oversight
- Source and procure materials within budget and on time to ensure smooth progress at project sites.
- Develop and manage monthly budgetary control reports for all purchased materials across multiple sites.
- Schedule material deliveries and complete requisitions to satisfy project timelines.
Spec Sourcing & Cost Optimisation
- Ensuring all acquired materials meet project specifications, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Securing the best available pricing from suppliers while maintaining strong working relationships.

Administration & Compliance
- Coordinate general administrative tasks to support procurement operations.
- Resolve supplier disputes and account queries efficiently and professionally.
- Verify that all documentation and records comply with company and industry standards.
Document Management
- Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records, including sorting, storing, and retrieving files for procurement teams.
Job Requirements
Essential
- A minimum of 2-3 years of procurement experience, ideally within a construction, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and analysis skills to evaluate supplier performance and pricing.
- Proficiency in Excel for budget tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
- The ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure while working independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with procurement software (e.g., SAP, ERP systems) is advantageous.

Desirable
- Technical knowledge of building materials (façade systems, glass, metals, insulation).
- First-hand experience in unitised curtain walling or specialist façade projects.
- Experience working with EU/international suppliers for material sourcing.
- Project management skills to coordinate materials for large-scale construction projects.
