Schedule and demand management — You’ll action exception messages, adjust schedules, and ensure supply aligns with production needs. Open order book management — You’ll track, review, and maintain accurate supply dates to protect production continuity. Change management — You’ll communicate and implement changes to requirements, pricing, and schedules. Issue resolution — From FAIR and NCR issues to technical or commercial challenges, you’ll drive problems to closure. Supplier communication — You’ll negotiate delivery, pricing, and priorities to keep supply on track. Master data ownership — You’ll ensure part records are accurate and compliant. Performance monitoring — You’ll track OTD, quality, and cost performance, and report on supplier KPIs. Non‑conformance management — You’ll coordinate returns and replenishment to minimise production impact. Compliance — You’ll operate in line with FAR/DFAR, ITAR/EAR, and company policies. Qualifications and Experience: Experience in a supply chain environment, ideally as a Buyer in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace sectors. A degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or equivalent industry experience. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence at senior levels. Solid supplier relationship management experience. Technical understanding of the commodities you’ll manage. Ability to work under tight financial and time constraints. Professional certifications like CIPS, CPM, or CPIM are a plus. Core competencies: A confident user of MRP/ERP systems. Tenacious, proactive, and unafraid to hold suppliers or internal teams accountable. Someone who takes ownership and drives results. Skilled at knowing when to escalate and when to solve independently. Analytical, detail‑driven, and able to handle complex information. Professional, trustworthy, and aligned with strong CSR values. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
