Escape Recruitment is working with a growing manufacturing business to recruit a Buyer Expeditor to join their Supply Chain team.
This is a busy, hands-on role where you will be responsible for ensuring raw materials are available to support production, working closely with suppliers to manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, inventory levels, and supply issues.
With significant business growth planned over the coming years, this is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
The Role
As Buyer Expeditor, you will play a key role in maintaining the smooth flow of materials into the business, ensuring production demands are met while balancing stock levels and supplier performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Raising and managing purchase orders for raw materials and components
- Expediting orders and maintaining regular communication with suppliers
- Monitoring supplier lead times and delivery performance
- Managing inventory levels in line with agreed min/max stock parameters
- Booking and coordinating supplier deliveries
- Updating and maintaining purchasing data within SAP
- Responding quickly to changes in production plans and material requirements
- Working closely with Production, Planning, and Warehouse teams to resolve supply issues
- Monitoring forecast demand and ensuring materials are available to support business requirements
- Investigating and resolving shortages, delays, and supplier-related issues
- Supporting continuous improvement across purchasing and supply chain processes

About You
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys building strong supplier relationships.
- Previous experience within a purchasing, buying, expediting, or supply chain role
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of MRP/ERP systems, ideally SAP
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and supplier management
- Good Excel and general IT skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
