Buyer – Fragrance & Personal Care (Grade E Permanent Role)

About Us

We’re the team behind digital retailer Very. Our purpose—helping families get more out of life—powers everything we do. We prioritise our people too, offering flexibility, great benefits, and the freedom to thrive in a supportive, progressive culture.

If you’re high-performing, ambitious, and eager to grow, we want to hear from you. You’ll love making a difference—especially when it sparks joy for millions of Very customers. ✨

About the Team

We’re seeking a talented Buyer to join our Fragrance & Personal Care team on a permanent basis in our Beauty division—one of our fastest-growing categories.

You’ll work with industry-leading brands, shaping a category that excites customers while delivering commercial excellence. Our team is collaborative, driven, and passionate about beauty.

About the Role

Take ownership of a growing category in Beauty, focusing on fragrance and personal care. Your mission? Drive growth, customer choice, and profitability through strategic thinking and stakeholder collaboration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Buying Manager & Merchandising to develop category strategies, range plans, pricing, and promotions that boost sales and profit.
  • Analysing performance data (in-week and monthly trading) to identify risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Building and maintaining strategic brand relationships, leading annual Joint Business Planning (JBP) and negotiating commercial terms, funding, and markdown support.
  • Onboarding and developing new brands that align with our Beauty strategy to enhance the customer experience.
  • Collaborating with Marketing teams to drive brand campaigns, product launches, and paid media activity that increase awareness and conversion.
  • Monitoring market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to shape category growth and unlock new opportunities.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing team members to foster a high-performance culture.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
