Buyer – FMCG Manufacturing (Permanent)
About the Role
This Buyer role is based within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment, focusing on sourcing raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods to support production and customer demand.
Your Responsibilities
- Source and purchase raw materials, packaging, and consumables in line with production schedules
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve the best value while maintaining quality
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness
- Monitor stock levels and manage replenishment to avoid shortages or excess
- Analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards, and company policies
- Collaborate with production, planning, and logistics teams to align purchasing with operational needs
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and supplier agreements using ERP systems

Requirements
- Previous experience in buying or procurement within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a similar fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- CIPS qualification or working towards it
- Knowledge of fresh produce supply chains and seasonal sourcing
