Buyer – Warwick | 10-Month Contract
Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Buyer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing environment based in Warwick on a 10-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, working with large volumes of data and driving tangible improvements across the supply chain.
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities across a diverse supplier base, supporting sourcing initiatives, negotiating commercial agreements and ensuring purchasing processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to maintain supply continuity, resolve supplier and invoicing issues, and support supplier performance and development activities.
We're particularly interested in candidates from the aerospace, defence, industrial manufacturing, heavy engineering or complex product sectors. Experience working with castings, forgings, machined components or other engineered products would be highly advantageous. Candidates should also have recent experience managing complex C-class commodities, demonstrating a strong blend of both strategic sourcing and transactional procurement expertise. The successful Buyer will be comfortable analysing large data sets, using Excel to an advanced level and leveraging a solution-focused approach to identify opportunities, overcome challenges and deliver results with minimal supervision.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
