Buyer/Category Manager

Home based

As a Buyer at Stericycle, you will play a pivotal role in executing Global Sourcing and Procurement efforts within a defined set of categories, overseeing an annual spend ranging from $10 - $50 million. You will spearhead the development of category strategies, driving year-over-year reductions in total costs while ensuring superior supplier quality and service levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the contracting and purchase of capital equipment in accordance with company policies, procedures, and strategic objectives.
  • Execute a deep knowledge of supplier cost structure (e.g., labor cost contribution, mark-up, purchased component costs, and percentage, fabrication) and use along with competitive tension, achieve cost reduction objectives.
  • Analyses supplier quote & concept, understands, and communicates variances in quoted cost attributable to variability in quoted concepts.
  • Ensures supplier accountability is contracted accordingly to specified equipment and tooling performance requirements. Supports engineering/production in the event supplier breaches performance contract during acceptance testing and warranty period.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management. We are open to considering recent graduates providing you with practical buying experience gained in work experience or similar.
  • 2 – 5 years of Procurement experience with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Access, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with Coupa is advantageous.
