Buyer – TechnipFMC (Dunfermline Office)

Job Purpose

We are seeking a Buyer to join the team in our Dunfermline office.

This role is responsible for:

  • Preparing and aggregating category demand,
  • Placing and executing all purchase orders for TechnipFMC’s procurement of specified equipment and materials in alignment with the assigned buyer group category strategy.

Job Description

  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all operational procurement matters related to the assigned buyer group, providing accurate and up-to-date status information to internal stakeholders.
    • Ensure material master data is clearly understood and adhered to by planners and procurement teams.
    • Foster clear, concise communication with internal stakeholders.
  • Place and manage orders in line with MRP requirements while complying with sourcing strategy, supplier capacity, and execution plans.
  • Adhere to all corporate and procurement-specific compliance requirements.
  • Participate in supplier management, including:
    • Contributing to risk assessments,
    • Supporting performance evaluation,
    • Monitoring and tracking KPIs.
  • Engage in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in a comparable procurement or buying role (preferably within the oil and gas or engineering industry).
  • CIPS certification or formal procurement qualifications (preferred, but not essential).
  • Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
