West Midlands – Office Based Up to £30,000 per annum
Are you highly organised, ambitious, and interested in a career in the retail industry? My client is looking for a Buying Assistant to join their growing buying team, supporting the procurement of a diverse and high-quality range of products for customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in buying within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The Role
As a Buying Assistant, you’ll provide essential administrative and commercial support to the Buying team, ensuring products are sourced efficiently while maintaining strong supplier relationships. You’ll collaborate with both internal departments and external suppliers to deliver the right products at the right price, quality, and time.

Key Responsibilities
- Support Buyers with the day-to-day management of food product categories.
- Raise and process purchase orders accurately.
- Maintain up-to-date product and supplier information within internal systems.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, specifications, and deliveries.
- Analyse sales, stock, and market data to inform buying decisions.
- Assist with new product launches and range reviews.
- Coordinate product samples and maintain accurate product documentation.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Technical, Marketing, and Finance teams.
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Numerate, with strong analytical skills.
- An effective communicator, capable of building strong relationships.
- Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Previous experience in buying, purchasing, merchandising, or administration is desirable but not essential.
