Job Vacancy: Buying Assistant (Commercial Department)
Permanent Position
Location: Monkspath, Solihull
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8.30 AM – 5.30 PM)
Salary: £26,000

Role Summary
As a Buying Assistant within our Commercial Department, your main responsibilities will include:
- Placing orders and forecasting demand
- Setting up transfers between depots
- Conducting competitor price comparisons
- Introducing and setting up new product lines
- Resolving supplier and logistics queries
Farmfoods is a successful, independent retailer specialising in frozen food, known for excellent quality and great value. With over 340 shops across the UK and 4 distribution centres, our Commercial Department (based in South Birmingham) plays a crucial role in managing multiple product ranges and suppliers, supporting a combined yearly turnover of over £1bn.

About the Commercial Team
We are currently seeking a full-time Buying Assistant to support our fast-paced Commercial Team. This role is perfect for someone who has a ** особое уважение к деталям**, excellent organisation skills, strong numeracy and literacy abilities, and can meet tight deadlines. You will work closely with our in-house software alongside Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
The Successful Candidate
This role requires collaboration across all levels of seniority and with external stakeholders (suppliers, customers). Key qualifications:

- Self-confidence in dealing with directors, senior management, and external contacts
- Good academic record, including at least a grade B in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Further education level (though a degree is not essential)
- Retail experience is advantageous but not mandatory
