Buying Assistant – Fanatics Commerce

Role Overview
The Buying Assistant will assist with category range, pricing, and supplier strategy to help deliver sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities

Supplier & Category Management
- Handle smaller suppliers and departments where relevant.
- Maximise supplier/category profit and sales.
- Develop commercial relationships with suppliers/licensed brands.
- Negotiate contract terms to secure the greatest commercial return for the business in line with the Supplier Strategy.

Product & Range Planning
- Manage range planning and implementation.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure all information is accurate and complete.
- Oversee product management tasks, including:
- Sample & CAD management
- Photograph collation & guidance for photo shoots
- Invoice queries and product queries resolution
- Size guide management

Supply Chain & Launch Support
- Ensure direct dispatch processes run smoothly.
- Oversee product presentation collation for launches.
- Assist in creating launch planners and calendars.
- Deliver range presentations to stakeholders.
- Provide on-site support during launch checks.
- Conduct direct market research, including competitor analysis.
- Review sales data to identify gaps and opportunities.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities
- Contribute to ongoing projects and tasks as required.
- May be required to work additional hours, including weekends and evenings, especially during peak events or high-volume periods.
Requirements
- Ideally, some buying or retail experience (though not mandatory).
- A buying qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Familiarity with the sports product industry is beneficial.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical aptitude.
- Ability to problem-solve, suggest process improvements, and contribute to project success.
- Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
- Thrives in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates passion, drive, and determination.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage interactions with internal and external stakeholders appropriately.
