About the Role:
The C# & Azure Developer is responsible for the development, support, maintenance and continuous improvement of Healthxchange's business-critical applications and digital platforms.
This role will primarily focus on the continued development and support of the Healthxchange e-Pharmacy platform, CourierBridge courier integration platform, corporate Intranet, Azure-hosted services and associated backend systems. The successful candidate will work across application development, systems integration, database development and cloud technologies to deliver reliable, scalable and secure solutions that support business operations, customer experience and future growth.
The role requires a strong backend developer with excellent C#, Azure and SQL Server skills who is comfortable working across multiple applications and supporting business-critical systems. The successful candidate will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver new functionality, resolve issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Founded in 2000, Healthxchange is the leading supplier of medical aesthetic products and services to professionals across the UK & Ireland. Healthxchange proudly partner with award-winning brands including Obagi Medical, Medik8, Jan Marini, and Jane Iredale to strategically commercialise their products in market. We currently supply over 9,000 clinics with a full range of products (Skincare, Injectables, Energy-based devices) and services (software & education) to support their 360 business needs. The company offers a dynamic environment for innovation and growth in the medical aesthetic space.
Responsibilities:
Application Development
- Develop, maintain and enhance applications using C# and.NET technologies.
- Deliver new functionality, enhancements and bug fixes across multiple business systems.
- Develop secure, scalable and maintainable backend services and APIs.
- Participate in technical design and solution development activities.
- Produce high-quality, well-tested and well-documented code.
- Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices.
e-Pharmacy Platform
- Develop, support and maintain the Healthxchange e-Pharmacy platform.
- Deliver enhancements to prescribing, ordering, fulfilment and operational workflows.
- Resolve defects, incidents and performance issues.
- Work with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Support initiatives to modernise the platform and reduce technical debt.

CourierBridge Platform
- Develop and support CourierBridge, Healthxchange's bespoke Azure-based courier management and integration platform.
- Maintain integrations with courier providers and shipping services.
- Develop functionality to support shipment processing, label generation and fulfilment operations.
- Improve automation, monitoring and operational visibility within the platform.
- Support onboarding of new courier services and logistics partners.
Intranet Development
- Develop and maintain the company's Blazor-based Intranet platform.
- Deliver enhancements that improve internal business processes and employee experience.
- Support integration with internal systems and services.
- Ensure security, performance and usability standards are maintained.
Azure Development & Cloud Services
- Develop and support Azure-hosted applications and services.
- Maintain Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL databases and related cloud services.
- Support cloud-native application development and platform improvements.
- Monitor application health and performance using Azure tooling.
- Contribute to platform resilience, security and performance optimisation initiatives
Database Development
- Design, develop and optimise SQL Server database solutions.
- Create and maintain stored procedures, views, functions and database objects.
- Develop and optimise complex SQL queries.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues.
- Support database deployment, migration and maintenance activities.
- Ensure data integrity, security and performance across all platforms.
Systems Integration
- Design, develop and maintain integrations between internal and external systems.
- Support integrations with warehouse, ERP, courier, supplier and partner platforms.
- Develop REST APIs and integration services.
- Support event-driven and API-based communication between business systems.
- Ensure reliable and secure exchange of data across platforms.
DevOps & Continuous Delivery
- Support and improve CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Participate in software release planning and deployment activities.
- Assist with environment management and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support production systems and out-of-hours deployments where required.

Technical Collaboration
- Work closely with business stakeholders, project teams and third-party suppliers.
- Contribute to solution design and technology decisions.
- Maintain technical documentation and knowledge-sharing processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and innovation.
- Support the ongoing evolution of Healthxchange's digital platforms and technology estate.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using C# and .NET.
- Experience with.NET Framework and modern.NET (.NET Core/.NET 8).
- Strong SQL Server development experience.
- Experience designing and optimising complex SQL queries, stored procedures and database solutions.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services including:
- Azure App Services
- Azure Functions
- Azure SQL
- Azure Storage
- Azure Monitoring and Application Insights
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with Git source control.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to support and enhance business-critical applications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Desirable:
- Experience with Azure Service Bus and messaging technologies.
- Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance.
- Experience of e-commerce, pharmacy or healthcare systems.
- Experience with warehouse, fulfilment or logistics integrations.
- Experience integrating with courier and shipping platforms.
- Experience working within regulated environments.
- Knowledge of cloud security and secure development practices.
- Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Blazor development experience.
- Experience mentoring junior developers.
