BUILD TECHNICIAN
Location: Gaydon
Department: Manufacturing
Grade: C
Reporting to: Manager / Group Leader
At Aston Martin, we are driven by a passion for creating the world's most beautiful high-performance cars. As a Build Technician, you will play a vital role in bringing our iconic vehicles to life, working as part of a dedicated manufacturing team responsible for vehicle assembly and the installation of components at various stages of the production process.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-renowned luxury automotive brand where quality, craftsmanship and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do. You will be responsible for completing assembly activities in line with established processes and standards, ensuring all work is carried out using the EASE system and meets the required quality and VIS standards. You will work safely and efficiently, adhering to risk assessments, health and safety regulations, and production cycle times while maintaining the highest levels of workmanship.
As part of the role, you will support quality, productivity and process improvement initiatives across the production line. You will also ensure controlled substances and components are stored in the correct trackside locations, maintain excellent housekeeping standards, and actively participate in First Line Maintenance (FLM) and Lean Manufacturing activities. Flexibility is essential, as successful candidates may be required to support other areas of the business when required and share their knowledge by assisting in the training of colleagues on processes and role-specific requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
