C# .NET Developer (Azure) – Sheffield (x2)
About the Role Our client based in Sheffield is searching for a skilled C# .NET Developer to join a small, collaborative engineering team, working on modern cloud-based applications.
This is a hands-on development role where you’ll contribute across the full software lifecycle, including maintenance, enhancements, and new feature delivery.
You’ll work with Microsoft cloud technologies in a cloud-first environment, helping to build and evolve scalable backend services and APIs that support business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services using C# and the latest .NET technologies (.NET 8, ASP.NET Core)
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs to support internal and external applications
- Work with Azure cloud services, including:
- App Services
- Azure Functions
- Storage solutions
- Contribute to both ongoing system maintenance and new feature development
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, delivering high-quality code independently
- Collaborate closely within a small engineering team, playing an active role in technical discussions and solutions
- Support continuous improvement of development practices and code quality
- Leverage modern development practices, including AI-assisted tooling, to boost productivity and delivery speed

Required Skills & Experience
- Highly proficient in C# and .NET, with a preference for .NET 8 / ASP.NET Core
- Strong experience in designing and building RESTful APIs and backend systems
- Solid understanding of Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, storage, etc.)
- Experience working independently while effectively contributing in a team environment
- Ability to manage workload across maintenance, enhancements, and new development

Desirable
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, testing support)
- Experience in agile or iterative delivery environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
