Location: Labman HQ, Stokesley, North Yorkshire
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 based on experience
Employment Type: Full-time
While your primary workplace will be our Stokesley office, there may be opportunities to travel internationally to customer sites.

Role Overview
As our C# Software Engineer – Upgrades Lead, you'll join the Service & Support Team, taking ownership of software upgrades that enhance and extend the capabilities of existing Labman systems. You'll play a key role in helping our customers maximise the value of their automation platforms by introducing new features, improving performance, and delivering long-term software solutions.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on software development with technical leadership, collaborating closely with teams across the business to deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software upgrades for existing Labman systems.
- Write high-quality code using Microsoft C#.NET and object-oriented programming principles.
- Work closely with software engineers across the business to ensure upgrades align with coding standards and development best practices.
- Support, maintain, and improve existing software applications.
- Introduce new functionality based on customer requirements and feedback.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Produce clear and effective technical documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to understand system functionality and workflows.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, takes ownership of their work, and is passionate about delivering robust software solutions.
Ideal Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' commercial experience developing in C#.NET
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- Experience developing Windows desktop applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience producing technical documentation
- The ability to understand and visualise complex mechatronic system workflows from videos, images, and technical documentation
- A collaborative approach and desire to work closely with engineering teams and customers
