Cable Jointer (HV/LV) / Industrial Electrician

Location - South Yorkshire with UK-wide project work

We're looking for experienced Industrial Electricians and Cable Jointers to join a growing electrical engineering business delivering HV & LV power projects across the industrial, utilities, renewables and infrastructure sectors.

Whether your background is in power distribution, cable jointing, substations, transformers or switchgear, this is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while developing your career within a well-established business. There's a good variety of work on offer across South Yorkshire and also National projects, working alongside experienced HV engineers on critical electrical infrastructure.

The Role

As part of the installation team you'll be involved in:

  • Installing HV & LV single-core and multicore power cables
  • HV & LV cable jointing and terminations
  • Installing cable tray, containment and support systems
  • Installing transformers, switchgear and power distribution equipment
  • Terminating LV power and control cabling
  • Testing, inspection and fault finding
  • Maintenance of transformers, switchgear and electrical distribution equipment
  • Supporting commissioning activities
  • Producing site reports and recording test results
  • Completing site risk assessments and working safely under electrical permit systems
  • Occasional UK travel and participation in the call-out rota

What We're Looking For

  • Time-served Electrician or Cable Jointer
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Experience within industrial electrical installations, utilities, power distribution or infrastructure projects
  • Experience in HV/LV cable jointing and terminations
  • Experience working with transformers, switchgear or substations would be advantageous
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred
