The Vacancy
CJ Associates part of the RSK Group have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cable Percussion Lead Driller with NVQ level 2 to join their growing team based in Avonmouth, Bristol.
The Role:
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to join a supportive and experienced team that focuses on quality and H&S. We work all over the UK ranging from inner-city to countryside locations.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise cable percussion drilling operations on site Set up, operate, and dismantle cable percussion rigs Ensure boreholes are drilled to required depth and specification Oversee casing installation, sample recovery, and in-situ testing Ensure accurate record keeping Complete daily drilling reports and site documentation Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and company RAMS Carry out routine maintenance and fault diagnosis on drilling equipment Liaise with site managers, engineers, and clients Supervise and mentor assistant drillers and trainees Ensure site housekeeping standards are maintained
Experience/Qualifications required:
CSCS and NVQ Level 2 (Lead Driller) required BDA accreditation preferred Full driving licence is essential Flexibility to work in varying locations around the UK
Salary & Benefits:
Salary - Up to £45,000 depending on experience Contributory Pension Scheme A flexible benefits programme including the option to buy additional holidays and private health care. Regular training and career development.

Our team provides integrated site investigation services, such as all aspects of drilling, undertaking in-situ testing and laboratory testing under our UKAS-accreditation laboratory. Our offices in Bristol and Bridgend offer significant local resource in the South West and Wales. However, with satellite offices in West Yorkshire, and support from RSK-affiliated companies scattered throughout mainland UK, we can resource and support projects nationwide. We are problem-solvers, happy to engage collaboratively with clients and support projects at the early contractor involvement stage with a best-for-project approach.
