Job Description
Kinetic Manchester is delighted to be recruiting a Part Time Cable Winding / General Operative for a leading supplier based in Blackley. This role is ideal for someone who wants consistent part time hours with the opportunity to grow into full time work in the future. As a part time Cable Winding Operative, you'll play an important part in keeping production running smoothly while supporting safety, quality and environmental standards across the site.
Please note: A drug and alcohol test will be carried out at interview stage and must be passed prior to starting.

- Receiving and understanding cutting orders from the production office
- Handling drums and reels and checking materials match instructions
- Cutting cable orders, selecting packaging and operating machinery safely
- Completing orders accurately using scanners or manual updates
- Using and maintaining PPE and reporting any defects
- Reporting accidents, incidents, problems or near misses
- Identifying non conforming products and recording scrap or returns
- Checking tools and equipment regularly and storing them safely
- Following environmental procedures including waste segregation and spill control
- Supporting the shift team leader or manager with any additional tasks
What We're Looking For
- Experience or understanding of production and quality processes
- Strong numeracy and literacy
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Hard working, reliable and self motivated
- Good awareness of safety in a busy industrial environment
- Problem solving skills
- Must pass a drug and alcohol test before starting
Job Details
- £12.71 per hour
- Part time hours (rotating weekly):
- Week 1: Wed, Thu, Fri - 08:30 to 17:00
- Week 2: Mon, Tue - 08:30 to 17:00
- Temporary to permanent opportunity
- Free parking
- Full training provided
