Kinetic Manchester is delighted to be recruiting a Part Time Cable Winding / General Operative for a leading supplier based in Blackley. This role is ideal for someone who wants consistent part time hours with the opportunity to grow into full time work in the future. As a part time Cable Winding Operative, you'll play an important part in keeping production running smoothly while supporting safety, quality and environmental standards across the site. Please note: A drug and alcohol test will be carried out at interview stage and must be passed prior to starting.

Key Responsibilities of the Part Time worker:

  • Receiving and understanding cutting orders from the production office
  • Handling drums and reels and checking materials match instructions
  • Cutting cable orders, selecting packaging and operating machinery safely
  • Completing orders accurately using scanners or manual updates
  • Using and maintaining PPE and reporting any defects
  • Reporting accidents, incidents, problems or near misses
  • Identifying non conforming products and recording scrap or returns
  • Checking tools and equipment regularly and storing them safely
  • Following environmental procedures including waste segregation and spill control
  • Supporting the shift team leader or manager with any additional tasks

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience or understanding of production and quality processes
  • Strong numeracy and literacy
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Hard working, reliable and self motivated
  • Good awareness of safety in a busy industrial environment
  • Problem solving skills
  • Must pass a drug and alcohol test before starting

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Part time hours (rotating weekly):
    • Week 1: Wed, Thu, Fri - 08:30 to 17:00
    • Week 2: Mon, Tue - 08:30 to 17:00
  • Temporary to permanent opportunity
  • Free parking
  • Full training provided
