THE TEAM
Join JSM Group, a leading provider of integrated utility infrastructure solutions delivering complex power and communications projects across the UK and Europe. You will be part of a skilled field team responsible for the installation and termination of cables to the highest standards, working safely and efficiently across a range of civil and utility projects.
SCOPE OF ROLE
As a Cabler, you will be responsible for the physical installation, routing and connection of cables across assigned project sites. You will work under the direction of a Senior Cabler / Project Manager, contributing to the safe, quality-driven delivery of cable infrastructure works. This role will be contractually based out of our River Road, Barking office.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Installing and routing cables in accordance with design drawings and specifications
- Pulling, laying and securing cables in ducts, trenches, cable management systems and structures
- Terminating and connecting cables to the required standards
- Assisting with site setup, including cable drum handling and cable pulling equipment
- Carrying out work safely in accordance with NRSWA
- Reporting of blockages to A55 standards
- Completing daily records, timesheets and any relevant site documentation
- Supporting SHEQ compliance by adhering to risk assessments, method statements and PPE requirements
- Attending and actively participating in toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment at all times
- Reporting incidents, close calls and near misses in line with company procedures

WHAT IT TAKES
- Proven experience in cable installation in a utility, power or telecoms environment
- NRSWA Streetworks operative accreditation (desirable)
- CSCS or EUSR Card at the appropriate level
- PIA accreditations SA002 / S006 & S007 (desirable)
- Ability to read and work from cable route drawings and schematics
- Good attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Willing to travel nationally and work away from home when required
