Cacao Transformation Program Manager
As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through reinventing chocolate, we are looking for a Cacao Transformation Program Manager to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis.
This is one of the most exciting strategic transformation roles in the business, helping to deliver a programme that will shape the trajectory of the Hotel Chocolat brand for the next 10 to 20 years.
The strategic direction and overall ambition will be owned by the programme sponsor. This role will be responsible for turning that ambition into a credible, investable and deliverable programme, establishing what it will take to move from strategic intent to execution.
You will act as both programme leader and thinking partner to the Sustainability & Procurement Director who is responsible for the successful delivery of this transformational change. You will not be accountable for setting the strategy, but you will be expected to understand it deeply, challenge and pressure-test its assumptions, identify gaps or unintended consequences, and bring forward clear recommendations where further choices are required.
You will lead the cross-functional programme, developing the business case and strategic roadmap, establishing governance, defining the resources and investment required, and creating alignment around the choices, trade-offs, dependencies and decisions needed to deliver the transformation.
This is not a functional delivery role. You will orchestrate activity across the business, ensuring the right experts are mobilised, functional accountabilities are clear, critical dependencies are managed and the programme remains focused on outcomes.
Sustainability will be a major part of the transformation, including our ambition to build the world’s most compelling example of sustainable cacao. However, the programme extends well beyond sustainability alone. Maintaining the right balance between positive impact, brand differentiation, operational feasibility and commercial return will be central to the role.
The successful candidate will be an exceptional transformation leader: commercially sharp, strategically curious, highly structured and influential with senior stakeholders, with the communication skills to turn complexity into clear, compelling narratives and actions. You will be comfortable navigating complexity across both Hotel Chocolat and Mars, constructively challenging senior thinking and creating momentum in an environment where not every answer has yet been defined.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We’re one of the UK’s favourite premium chocolate brands, with a range of products spanning luxury gifts, alcohol and our pioneering drinking chocolate system, the Velvetiser™.
A cacao pod takes years to grow – it can’t be rushed if it’s going to be just right for our products. The same can be said for Hotel Chocolat, which originally started as a mint production company before we realised it was luxury chocolate that we were really passionate about.
Now, we’re market leaders in the industry. What began as an online-only business grew to over 160 stores across the UK, and we’re still growing… Today, we’re multi-category, multi-channel, and multi-territory, and our customers, colleagues, cacao farmers and suppliers all benefit from the success we make together.
