Job Description: CAD Engineer / Drawing Office Engineer (Andover Location)
Summary
We are looking for an experienced CAD Engineer or Drawing Office Engineer to join Stannah Lifts Limited in our New Lifts division in Andover. This is a dynamic role for someone passionate about technical design and the lift industry, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of projects. Applicants should be resident within a commutable distance of our Andover office.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Produce high-quality builder’s work drawings and ensure seamless handover to manufacturing
- Act as a central point of contact, addressing technical queries from customers and supporting the Sales Team
- Engage in site surveys and customer visits
- Review As Sold/Sales Selector Sheets, survey details, or architectural plans
- Communicate and document product changes clearly to stakeholders and clients
- Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and scheduling teams to identify and mitigate delays
- Utilise AutoCAD 2017 and other CAD packages to support project teams with precise technical outputs

Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:30–17:15; Friday 08:30–13:30
About the Role
You’ll be proactive, organised, and methodical, with a strong instinct for problem-solving and quality assurance. Excelling in roles requiring minimal supervision, you should also possess robust communication skills to engage with stakeholders at every level. A detailed understanding of vertical transportation systems is essential to meeting the demands of this role—including passenger lifts, platform lifts, microlifts, and goods lifts.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2017 (or comparable software)
- Strong grasp of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
- Comprehensive knowledge of vertical transportation systems (platform lifts, microlifts, passenger lifts, goods lifts)
- Clear eye for precision in technical drawing
- Self-sufficiency and methodical workplace approach
- Background (preferably in, or demonstrated by) the construction or lift industry
Its Nice if You’ve Got
- Technical design or CAD engineering experience
- Proven ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams, architects, and contractors
