Era4 develops, owns, and operates AI infrastructure across the UK, powered by renewable energy. Converting legacy industrial and energy sites into modern data-centre facilities, Era4 is combining brownfield regeneration opportunities with cleaner, efficient, scalable compute capacity for healthcare, research, finance, enterprise, and public-sector organisations.

About the Role

We’re seeking a highly capable and driven CAD Engineer to join our growing team. This is a demanding and critical role, offering an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of innovative, data-driven projects that support our mission to deliver intelligent, low-carbon solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in translating concepts, data, and site conditions into accurate, high-quality CAD models and technical drawings, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and having the ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

The position will be based near Coventry but will require regular site visits across the UK.

12 Month FTC

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, models, and layouts to support engineering and project delivery activities.
  • Interpret design briefs, technical specifications, and site data to develop accurate and compliant drawings.
  • Conduct regular site visits to gather measurements, verify conditions, and resolve design or construction challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet functional, regulatory, and project requirements.
  • Update and revise drawings throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining version control and documentation standards.
  • Identify potential design or constructability issues early and propose practical solutions.
  • Ensure all CAD outputs align with relevant industry standards, health & safety requirements, and company best practices.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience producing detailed technical drawings for real-world, site-based projects.
  • Comfortable undertaking frequent site visits and working in active or operational environments.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering principles, technical specifications, and design coordination.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Solid proficiency with industry-standard CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar).
