Yolk Recruitment are supporting an established South Wales engineering manufacturer with the recruitment of a CAD Design Technician to join their growing design team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD Technician, CAD Designer, Draughtsperson, Draughtsman or Graduate Design Engineer looking to develop their career within a manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in the company's transition from traditional 2D drafting into 3D CAD design, working on bespoke engineering projects using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. Whether you already have commercial design experience or you're a strong engineering graduate with 3D CAD exposure, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a business investing in its people, technology and future growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate 2D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD.
- Create and develop 3D models using Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
- Interpret customer briefs and technical specifications to produce bespoke design solutions.
- Generate manufacturing documentation and technical drawings for production.
- Assist in the design and development of new products and product improvements.
- Work closely with sales and engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Explain technical drawings and product specifications where required.
- Maintain drawing revisions and manage engineering documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the design department.
- Ensure drawings comply with manufacturing and quality requirements.

- Experience using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 2D/3D CAD software.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
