CAD/CAM Engineer
Gateshead
Permanent staff position
Four day working week, Mon to Thu
Salary bracket: £40,000 – £46,000 a year
33 days’ holiday (inc bank holidays)
A specialist manufacturing business in Gateshead is seeking an experienced CAD/CAM Engineer to join their engineering department.
You primarily be responsible for developing manufacturing processes, creating CNC programs, and supporting NPI and lean activity across the company.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Creating designs & CNC programs using CAD/CAM
- Producing 3D models & graphics, utilising software such as Rhino, Adobe Illustrator and SolidWorks
- Supporting new product introduction from concept through to production.
- Developing manufacturing methods, tooling requirements, and setup instructions.
- Driving continuous improvement activities focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
- A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
- Proven experience in a CAD/CAM or manufacturing Engineer role.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks and/or Rhinoceros 3D
- Experience generating CNC programs.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
