CAD/CAM Engineer

MGS Precision Ltd | Stone, Staffordshire | Present

Responsible for leading the development and optimisation of CNC machining processes for complex, high-precision components across a wide range of industries. Working closely with engineering, production and quality teams to deliver efficient, cost-effective manufacturing solutions while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming complex 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centres using CAD/CAM software, Hypermill experience would be an advantage
  • Developing and optimising machining strategies to reduce cycle times and improve productivity.
  • Supporting new product introduction from quotation through to production.
  • Selecting tooling, fixtures and cutting strategies to maximise efficiency and process capability.
  • Troubleshooting machining and programming issues to minimise downtime.
  • Collaborating with production, quality and design teams to ensure manufacturability and continuous improvement.
  • Producing and maintaining manufacturing documentation, setup sheets and work instructions.
  • Driving process improvements through lean manufacturing and best engineering practices.
  • Providing technical support and mentoring to machinists where required.
  • Ensuring compliance with customer specifications, quality standards and health & safety requirements.
