Cafe Chef
Chef with Hospitality Experience – Tesco Café
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef with hospitality experience to join one of our lively café kitchens. Your daily work will involve food preparation, storage, and delivering delicious meals to ensure our customers remain happy, satisfied, and eager to return.
By bringing your experience from a similarly high-pressure environment, you’ll become a valued café menu expert while helping the team thrive—focusing on health and safety, reducing food waste, and maintaining outstanding quality and service speed. No matter the challenge, our team prioritises customer excellence.

Key Responsibilities
The role requires ensuring the following daily needs are met:
- Prepping and storing food in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Serving timely, delicious, and high-quality meals to meet customer expectations.
- Identifying ways to continuously improve processes for both service efficiency and staff development.
- Supporting health and safety compliance in food handling.
- Meeting service standards set by Tesco’s operational goals.

Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Hospitality experience, ideally in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Experience thriving under high-pressure conditions while maintaining quality.
- A commitment to exceptional customer service.
- A strong determination to foster an inclusive workplace where colleagues feel respected, safe, and valued.
- Good organisational skills to manage workflow effectively.
- Confidence in problem-solving to adapt and improve methods on the fly.
- Clear communication skills to motivate and mentor a growing team.
