Chef (Café Kitchen) – Hospitality Experience Required
About the Role
We’re looking for a Chef with hospitality experience to join one of our vibrant Tesco café kitchens. Your daily responsibilities will include food preparation, storage, and service—ensuring our customers enjoy delicious, high-quality meals that keep them returning.
As a key member of our team, you’ll bring your expertise to life in a high-pressure environment, ensuring food safety, hygiene, limiting waste, and customer satisfaction remain our top priorities. Tesco Cafés thrive on collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, and we’re looking for someone passionate about making every day rewarding for both colleagues and guests.
Minimum age: 18+
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include, but isn’t limited to:
- Following food safety and hygiene regulations for storage, preparation, and food handling.
- Serving quick, tasty meals while maintaining precision and consistency to meet customer expectations.
- Identifying efficiencies and improvements in kitchen workflows to enhance service speed and customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring health and safety, food safety, and service plans are strictly adhered to.
- Contributing to a dynamic, inclusive environment where every team member feels valued and respected.
- Using your initiative to open-new ways of working that benefit both customers and colleagues.

Requirements
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A background in hospitality, ideally in a fast-paced café or restaurant.
- Strong experience in high-pressure environments, ensuring productivity and quality.
- A commitment to excellence in customer service and teamwork.
- A passion for fostering an inclusive, safe, and supportive workplace.
- Organisational and planning skills to manage time effectively.
- Confidence in identifying opportunities for improvement (e.g., workflows, food presentation).
- Strong communication skills to motivate and lead a growing team.
