Firestone Kitchen Café Manager Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded person to take the Firestone Kitchen cafe into the next part of its growth journey.
You will ensure that the café operates efficiently, safely, and profitably, contributing directly to the overall success of the site. This is a hands-on operational role responsible for the day-to-day running and commercial performance of the café as a key revenue stream within the wider attraction.
The role requires strong hands-on leadership, operational discipline, and the ability to manage both people and performance effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Café Manager is accountable for delivering café performance in line with agreed budgets, standards, and operational requirements.
This role requires strong on-the-floor management, with responsibility for driving service quality, managing costs, and ensuring the café operates efficiently, safely, and profitably at all times.
This Role Is Responsible For
- Café performance consistently meets agreed revenue and margin targets.
- Day-to-day management of staffing, service, stock, and sales within the café.
- Ensuring compliance with operational standards, policies, and procedures.
- Labour costs managed within budget and aligned to rota planning.
- Stock controlled effectively with minimal waste and strong availability.
- High standards of service, cleanliness, and compliance maintained at all times.
- Efficient trading during peak periods, events, and seasonal activity.
- Accurate and timely reporting.
- Contribution to overall site performance through strong café execution.

Commercial Performance
- Deliver café revenue, margin, and cost targets.
- Support sales growth through effective service delivery and upselling.
- Identify performance issues and opportunities and escalate appropriately.
- Support the wider commercial objectives of the site through café performance.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Manage and lead the café team on a day-to-day operational basis.
- Implement rotas in line with budget and demand.
- Recruit, train, and develop café staff in line with agreed standards.
- Lead operational delivery during peak trading, events, and busy periods.
- Ensure clear communication of expectations and standards within the team.
Stock & Cost Control
- Maintain par levels and ensure effective stock availability.
- Place orders in line with budget, demand, and operational requirements.
- Control waste, stock rotation, and usage.
- Operate within purchasing and cost controls.
Service & Customer Experience
- Ensure the café is clean, safe, and fully operational at all times.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
- Manage queue flow and service efficiency during peak periods.
- Deliver consistent customer service standards aligned with the wider attraction.

Events & Trading Support
- Deliver café operations during events, seasonal trading, and extended opening periods.
- Ensure staffing and stock levels are appropriately planned for trading demands.
- Support delivery of commercial events as required by the General Manager.
Reporting & Accountability
- Provide accurate daily reporting on sales, labour, and stock performance.
- Monitor performance against budget and explain variances clearly.
- Maintain accurate operational records and compliance documentation.
Skills & Experience
- Strong operational management experience in a hospitality or visitor environment.
- Experience managing teams in a fast-paced, customer-facing setting.
- Strong understanding of labour control, stock management, and cost control.
- Ability to work within structured reporting and budget frameworks.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure during peak trading periods.
- Understanding of food safety and operational compliance requirements.
