Café Manager (full time) – Salary £32,000-£35,000, depending on experience
The Café at Christ Church Woking is no ordinary café. It was the first independent coffee shop in Woking and over the last 30 years it has become known as a place of welcome and compassion. This newly refurbished and recently reopened café is now seeking to once again cement its place as the loving, welcoming space for the people of Woking to enjoy.
Could you be our new café manager? You will be passionate about re-establishing The Café as a key part of the life of Woking town centre, and a central element of the weekly Christ Church outreach.
We are looking for someone:
- Who knows how to manage, develop, and work within a close-knit café team
- Who has experience of working in café management or a hospitality environment
- Who understands and enjoys the challenges of running a customer-focused cafe, can develop and implement a successful business strategy, and can manage budgets
- Who has great communication and people skills, and can keep a calm under pressure
- Who is flexible, resourceful, and decisive
- Who will seek to create and maintain a warm and friendly atmosphere for both staff and customers, and can signpost appropriately for pastoral support if the need arises
- Who shares our faith and embraces and celebrates our wider mission

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
