Catering Assistant – Elan Valley (Casual Position)

Work Type & Details

Casual position Base Location: Elan Valley (Postcode: LD6 5HP) Salary: £13.45 per hour (3 positions available) Working Hours:

  • Monday–Sunday rota, typically 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM (8-hour working day)
  • Busiest periods: Weekends and school holidays (extra hours available)
  • Apply ASAP – Interviews conducted on a weekly basis until role is filled

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As a Catering Assistant, you will:

  • Work to appropriate procedures to ensure the safety of all persons on site.
  • Reconcile daily income with till receipts.
  • Serve food and beverages to customers efficiently.
  • Maintain clean tables and seating areas for guest use.
  • Perform general cleaning duties, including kitchen and storage areas.
  • Prepare and serve hot meals for colleagues during breakfast and lunch times.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Ideally, hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (immunisation required).
  • Demonstrated experience in catering, retail, or hospitality.
  • Practical knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service (especially in retail).
  • Confidence working with the general public independently.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong numeracy and point-of-sale (till) operating skills.
  • Familiarity with basic budget/financial awareness.

Preferred привuity

  • Experience with flexible shift work (mon–sun, including weekends & holidays).
  • Willingness to adhere to rotating schedules as needed.
