Team Member – Tesco Café
About the Role
Tea is brewing. Café doors are opening. The day is about to start, and so are our café team members—talented people making every day a little better for our customers.
As a Team Member in our café, you’ll be involved in everything—a splash of cooking, a dash of customer engagement, and a heap of impact. If you’re passionate about delivering great service, you’ll ensure every dish meets our standards while keeping our café clean, safe, and ready for our customers.

Why We Offer Guaranteed Hours
We’ll schedule your shifts within the following availability windows, providing 3 weeks’ notice. While we prefer exact matches, we welcome close alignments—talk to us about flexibility!

Responsibilities
Your role will include, but is not limited to:
- Maintaining hygiene standards – Keeping kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspace spotless.
- Serving with care – Providing quick, efficient, and warm customer service.
- Food safety & compliance – Adhering to hygiene regulations while logging daily records.
- Stock rotation – Implementing FIFO (First In, First Out) to keep food fresh.
- Delivery & storage management – Handling deliveries and ensuring safe food storage.
- Operational adherence – Following all policies and procedures strictly.
- Menu mastery –
- Preparing, cooking, and serving food according to our café’s offerings.
- Ensuring dishes meet the promised quality and standard.
- Customer care –
- Resolving complaints and communicating issues to the Café Manager.
- Staying updated on business communications and initiatives.
- Cleanliness & organisation – Clearing, sanitising, and tidying tables and workspaces.

Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience:
- A commitment to hospitality and excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety standards.
- Teamwork and adaptability – Comfortable in fast-paced, ever-changing environments.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Problem-solving ability – Confident using initiative to improve workflows.
