With a commitment to innovation and excellence, Promtek is expanding its team and has a critical need for a Calibration and Service Engineer to support maintenance at our stoke on trenten (northwest staffs) works: Brindley Ford.
The Role
As a Service and Calibration Engineer, you will:
- Precision Calibration Perform accurate calibration of instruments (e.g. load cells, balances, process transmitters) to meet ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- On-Site & Technical Support Travel across the UK/EU to service hardware, address client-specific issues, and guarantee uninterrupted production.
- Fault Diagnosis & Repair Enable troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and process control systems using industry-leading tools and techniques.
- Compliance & Record-Keeping Maintain calibration certifications and technical documentation per UKAS/Euromet guidelines.
- Client Relationships Collaborate with sales to ensure client satisfaction through expert technical input.

Key Responsibilities
Note: Roles may be performed on an in-shore or on-site basis in the UK/Europe.

Requirements
- Fluency in electrical/mechanical diagnostics, including:
- Load cell calibration
- Equipment setup (load cells, bridges, drag chains)
- Process systems integration
- Understanding of instrumentation (analog/digital signals, HMI interfaces).
- Experience with commodity weighing preferred (bulk mixing, process control).
- Proficient in national/ISO standards for calibration and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to travelling for client install & repair trips.

Bonus Qualifications
- Machinery Qualification (e.g.-upm, gosmetrics-cal calibration competencies)
- Professional membership (i.e., C.Eng) or equivalent.
- Basic programming skills (PLC/SP) with instructions.
