We are seeking a skilled Calibration Engineer to support the delivery of accurate, reliable and compliant calibration services across our product and equipment requirements. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the availability, accuracy, and traceability of all measuring equipment, helping to maintain the integrity of testing operations and our compliance with high-quality standards.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and laboratory teams, you will play a key role in calibration management, quality improvement activities, new product introduction, equipment development projects, and the resolution of technical and non-conformance issues.

As a Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing calibrations and measurements to high levels of accuracy and traceability.
  • Verifying internal and external calibration results and authorizing calibration status where appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate calibration records and overseeing the integrity of the calibration database.
  • Developing and improving calibration methods, processes, and schedules for new and existing equipment.
  • Investigating and resolving calibration-related non-conformances and audit findings.
  • Supporting the introduction of new equipment, projects, and laboratory capabilities.
  • Advising on calibration requirements relating to equipment purchase, repair, and construction.
  • Preparing and reviewing equipment data sheets, calibration methodologies, and uncertainty budgets.
  • Delivering guidance and training on equipment use, safe working practices, and calibration processes.
  • Managing external calibration and repair suppliers, ensuring quality and compliance requirements.

Fuel your passion

The Heavy Duty Gas Turbines Specialist coordinates and oversees work at the field site, providing quality service to the customer. Job role may include sales, job design, execution, and follow-up activities. Provides the planning necessary for the job, including instructions to the crew and equipment used. Coordinates and directs the activities of service operators. Coordinates the cleanup, repair, and preparation of equipment for the next job. May evaluate individual performance levels of the crew and train operators to improve their job performance.

Good Functional / Technical, Customer Focus, Communication, Interpersonal, and Team working Skills. He/She's mainly specialized on heavy Duty Gas Turbines - Frame 5, Frame7

Under minimal supervision receives and follows established tasks according to the Maintenance or Installation activities schedule on Customer equipment’s in the Field.

Actively collaborate with others crew members to the Installation and/or Maintenance activities of Customer Equipment in the Field at Customer Sites.

He/she is responsible for the execution of specific tasks following the Site Quality Check Lists provided for the agreed scope of work.

May interact with Customer Representative and Site Team on routine matters at the Field Job Site such as coordination meetings.

He/she needs to provide all required records of all activities accomplished at Customer Site to the Baker Hughes IET Supervisor and promotes and maintains good team relations.

Executes all required responsibilities safely and as instructed by direct supervisors and following all TPS Service applicable processes and procedures.

Performs other related duties as required.

Conducts all business activities in accordance to Baker Hughes Core Values (HSE, Quality and Compliance).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree preferred. Industry experience and IET product line training required.
  • Have at least 5 years’+ of experience in field service or maintenance position.
  • Have participated in Minor/Major outages, commissioning, and installation.
  • Know about L1 service - Boroscope.
  • Know about services like Combustion inspection, Hot Gas Path, and Rotor swap.
  • Have the ability to understand and implement technical drawings.
  • Know maintenance procedures for heavy duty gas turbines.
  • Have troubleshooting experience.
  • Have availability to travel 90% of the time.
  • Be fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Able to work offshore and overseas is a plus.
  • T BOSIET/THUET certificates are a plus.
